Jack in Notting Hill
What happened to this place?! It used to be great but has seriously waned. Staff are surly and the food actually a bit bland. I stopped eating here after my bill was upcharged on two occassions. Disappointing.

There is always a queue waiting patiently in the doorway of this restaurant - which would indicate the food is something special. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's amazing, but if you stick to their specialities of kebabs and hot platefuls of taftoon (bread) then you'll end up full and satisfied. It helps to bear in mind that the meat has quite a lot of garlic, so it wouldn't be on top of my list for a night out with a date...

This restaurant used to be frequented by the Persian community. However it has steadily gone downhill and my most recent visit was so disappointing that I will not be returning. The Chelo Kebab (minced lamb) was greasy and salty and I saw large bags of Tilda Rice (indian) lying in the corridor. I think it may be cheaper for them to serve Basmati instead of Persian Rice. The Joojeh kebab (boneless chicken) was extremely salty and unappetising. The waitresses are all Eastern European and have a very brusque manner. All in all I think it wise to give it a miss. I met some Iranians who told me that the place to go at the moment is Mohsen in Warwick Road so I will be trying that soon.
