I love this cafe, I travel for 45 mins just to have one of their freshly backed custard donuts. Couldnt fault it at all apart from the size of the seating area which should be bigger as it is always very busy. The staff are lovely and the people who visit the cafe are very multi-cultural. Being from portugal, this cafe really reminds me of my uncles cafe back home. Love it, highly recommended.
best cafe on goldbourne (aside from oporto that should really share the title), traditional Portuguese caff serving up good cheap sarnies - try the bread crumbed pork escalope - t & coffee good, but essentially it's THE place to watch the world go by and earwig in on other people's conversations. a local institution. oh yes, and they have some nice cakes too :)
Fantastic Portuguese place, you must try Pastel de Nata (pastry with custard) and a lovely expresso. The prices, well so cheap that I am used to go there every week.
Independent shopkeepers and market stall holders are seeing Portobello change...
